Art highlights the plight of Threatened Species of Owls. Exhibition at The Art House in July. ‘RED WOOLLEN PETTICOAT’ presented by Brisbane Water Historical Society Brisbane Water Historical Society proudly presents it’s latest Exhibition, ‘Red Woollen Petticoat’ and other delicate pieces usually kept under wraps! Not often seen glimpses from the costume archive make an appearance with local stories about those people who helped weave the very fabric of cultural life in the early days of the Gosford region. The Toukley and Districts Art Society in our home at the Federation Gallery and Information Centre, Wallarah Road, Gorokan, just before Toukley Bridge, is the showcase for the Wyong Shire Art scene. On display are paintings in oil, acrylics, watercolour and pastel, along with porcelain, hand-painted silk, craft work, jewellery, and original cards. All the artwork is by the Society’s local members and are all for sale at reasonable prices. Come in and meet the artists. The Art and Information Gallery, is open daily from Tuesday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, on Sat & Sun, from 10am to 1pm. We now have a Coffee Shop, located inside the Gallery, so call in and have a browse with a nice cup of coffee or tea, afterwards.
