October 15 – Anna Forsyth
Anna Forsyth is a writer and editor from NZ, currently working as an itinerant event producer travelling around Australia. She is the founder of Girls on Key, a feminist poetry organisation hosting poetry readings around Australia. Her short stories, articles and poems have appeared in numerous publications online and in print and her latest collection of poems, Beatific Toast was released in May 2018 by the Girls on Key publishing imprint, General Chaos Press. In her spare time, she moonlights as indie musician, Grace Pageant.
October 29 – Andy Jackson – 5th Monday sponsored by the Wicko
Andy Jackson has featured as a poet and a performer at literary events and arts festivals in Ireland, India, the USA and Australia, including the 2017 Castlemaine State Festival with Each Map of Scars, a collaboration with Rachael Guy and Leonie Van Eyk. Andy’s poems have been selected for five of the last six annual editions of The Best Australian Poems. His most recent collection, Music our bodies can’t hold (2017), consists of portrait poems of other people with Marfan Syndrome, and was recently featured on ABC Radio National’s Earshot. He has worked in call-centres, libraries, and as a creative writing tutor, and is currently undertaking a PhD in poetry and bodily otherness through the University of Adelaide.
