After two successful seasons at the Laycock street theatre, the Gosford Theatre Company is presenting its next production, EXTREMITIES at the HUB performance space at Erina Fair from 13 – 22 July 2018.
EXTREMITIES is a play by WILLIAM MASTROSIMONE which tells the story of one woman’s fight to survive the aftermath of an attempted sexual assault. With her life changed forever she finds herself faced with a choice that threatens to drag her and her housemates into a frightening and dangerous situation. The play takes a serious look at how the justice system treats victims of crime and how the limits of our empathy are tested by such events.
As the only witness to the attack the audience experiences the story from the perspective of victim, peer and assailant in a reversal that turns the small loungeroom into a virtual courtroom. The performances of the four actors are exceptional and the theatrical experience is unlike anything you’ve seen before.
NOTE: Contains adult themes and strong language.
The HUB is situated next to Erina library in the shopping centre at Erina Fair. Often used for youth based musical projects the HUB has played host to theatrical productions in the past. “We felt the space provided an intimate environment that suited the needs of this particular play. It also has the advantages of raised seating, nearby parking and it’s close to local eateries so people can grab a meal before the show.”
