Congratulations to Brooke Shorten, the talented XtrAct student who is recipient of this year’s Paul Ractliffe Memorial Award.
Brooke is 12 years old and will be moving from XtrAct’s primary into the secondary class in 2018. She is the first primary student to receive the award, and also the first primary student to receive XtrAct’s tenure award for completing 6 years with the academy. XtrAct’s director, Danielle Brame-Whiting, describes Brooke as a talented yet humble person who exemplifies the spirit of the award. “She always puts care for others first,” says Danielle. “She’s always patient, always kind and giving as a performer and as a person. She has great presence on stage, and finds joy in everything she does in life. She’s just a really deserving kid.”
Well done, Brooke. From what I saw in XtrAct’s entertaining end of year show last weekend, you have a promising future in the performing arts ahead of you 🙂
